[Workshop 1] Rethink cultural mobility in Asia

Towards fairer and more sustainable funding schemes and cooperation models in Asia

The global Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated some trends and complex situations in relation with the mobility of artists and cultural professionals, in particular the discrepancies of access to funding and resources for artists and cultural professionals worldwide and, specifically in an Asian context. This has been particularly exacerbated as many artists and cultural professionals have no other choices than to be international (in their practices, access to funding, etc.).
'To what extent can cultural mobility be a conscious process in relation to the economic, political, social, ethical, environmental dimensions it embeds? How to valorise in mobility support schemes, resources' and knowledge's sharing beyond funding? How to embed ecological concerns in Asia where travels by plane are usually necessary considering the geographies of the region? How to develop alliance of funders / partner-organizations to tackle the increasing competition for funding?' are among the questions that will be addressed.
This session conceived as a space of exchange bringing artists and cultural professionals (festivals, networks,
funding organizations etc) aims to come up with three main practical ideas on developing fairer and more
sustainable mobility funding schemes and cooperation models.

Date
Oct.12th(Mon) 21:00-22:00

※ Contents of internal workshops will be shared at the closing session on Oct.15th.
