SINNOI

SINNOI is a trio consisting of Won-sool Lee,
a bassist who has an unrivaled presence in Korean jazz scene;
Bora Kim, who has an extensive musical range from Gyeonggi minyo (folk songs)
and jeongga (literary vocals); and haihm, an artist of electronic sound.
This unique combination of Korean traditional music-based vocals,
jazz bass, and electronic sound goes beyond a simple collaboration.
It breaks down their respective genre boundaries
and blends disparate musical elements in striking ways,
resulting in the creation of unpredictable new sounds.
SINNOI released their first album <The New Path> in 2019,
ushering in a new horizon for Korean contemporary music with familiar yet unfamiliar,
fresh and overwhelming sounds.

Reviews

“SINNOI deconstructs and dissolves the boundaries of genres,
then recomposes and binds the elements together.
The outcome is an idiosyncratic universe in and of itself.”
