Synopsis

<Clap & Applause> is a new performance that celebrates
the 10th anniversary of the debut of the music group Coreyah.
Korean traditional rhythms combined with applause have been altered to
a more commonly interactive dance beat,
and the Korean feeling created by daegeum, geomungo, and janggu became stronger.
Continuing on the long-standing trajectory of Coreyah,
which attempted to introduce pop into traditional music,
the song combines the sound of a psychedelic band to present a more youthful
and bold musical experience.

Coreyah

Formed in 2010, Coreyah has performed a variety of programs
in a large range of environments both domestically and internationally.
Coreyah's music combines popular sounds and exotic elements,
including folk songs and pansori,
and is attracting the interests of Korean and international fans,
as well as young people across borders.
It has also established a performative repertoire that adds a visual component,
such as video screenings and exotic percussion instruments.
The composition of audiences across a wide range of cultures
and generations is a characteristic and strength of this band.
In particular, the year 2020 is their 10th anniversary,
and the celebrative repertory <Clap & Applause> was recently premiered.
This performance, which demonstrates more pop and psychedelic elements
while taking advantage of the singularity of the Korean instruments,
confirmed its popularity by selling out in Seoul.
Based on the skill set from home and abroad,
it will revitalize the passion for Korean culture abroad.
